Mitel MAS Version 4.0 will be shipping from the end of February. It really emphasises where Mitel is going with its Unified Communications suite. In summary they announced:

• UCA can now be delivered via a web portal with real time presence and instant messaging
• Instant Messaging is now available on Blackberry and Android devices
• Calendar integration is now available into Microsoft Exchange (or Office 365)
• Enhancements on VMware vSphere 5 support
• NuPoint Enhancments include support for Outlook 2010 plugin and Windows 7 64 bit support
• Totally new interface to Mitel Collaberation Advanced (MCA) delivering easier to use Video and Audio conferencing facilities

Last but not least something many clients have requested:

• CSM (formally Callview) is now available as a stand alone product or as a virtual appliance

Overall a good solid step forward and with a good roadmap of further enhancements Mitel continues to head in the right direction.
